Fedora the new Ubundows

It looks like "Fedora" badly tries to grow their userbase and getting rid of some of their old userbase. I'm just not sure is that a "hey, let me see what i can do for "Fedora" on my own" strike, or does that need a few more guys to share the same "smart" thoughts.

Hold on to your pants. We're happy to introduce "Let everyone install Software without root credentials" as long as the packages are signed. WTF?

And not enough, we get all that without any warning note, no! If you file a bug, because you think "WOW, that is really broken", you get answers like "The default policy may not be to your taste, but this is the "desktop" spin, not the "server" spin." WTF? Default policy? Not as an option but default?
Oh, yeah, i forgot, it looks like we're trying to become the new Ubundows. Oh and i forgot that one, one, has discussed it publicly over 9 months ago.. Well, that explains it of course. Let me find out what i have discussed over 9 months ago and with whom?

You think that's it? Not yet, sorry. One of my favorite answers is: "I don't particularly care how UNIX has always worked." bummer
Young man! We care! I can't wait until my little son bombs my box because he can install all and everything he want, thanks!

But i know that people don't care. The best question i see for https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=534047
is "is that a troll thread? Please tell me it is" But read it and find out yourself what made me that angry that i wrote this entry.

Where do you want to go today? Try, the brand new Ubundows 12!

Exciting KDE 4.3beta (4.2.85)

Let me start my blog dedicated to the DE i really prefer and love ;P

I use KDE since i use Linux and it was always something special for me. I never changed to another DE for real. Trying "the others" never satisfied me, not even when KDE did the big step to 4.0. I survived, patiently waiting for the next release. Well, that means in Fedora enabled the kde-unstable repo to stay up-to-date (Fedora 10) ;)
The 4.1 release.. The 4.2 release.. And now the 4.3beta (4.2.85).. And boy, it gets more sexy all the time!

Awesome was, to get finally rid of nm-applet due to the kde-networkmanagement-plasma plasmoid :^D
The new Weather plasmoid yaWP (Yet Another Weather Plasmoid) rocks da house.. uhm.. Desktop..
The now animated Notifications and jobs area/icon

There are so much improvements, i cant count them all. All works rock stable so far, you have to see it.. It's bright, shiny and sexy :^D

thomasj
